Who: School-aged children (6–14)
What: Evidence-based after-school mentorship and enrichment programming

The BIG Horizons After School Program provides school-aged children with a safe, supportive space for mentorship, connection, and enrichment after school. Youth can access engaging activities, positive role models, healthy snacks, and full-day programming on select PD and school break days. The program is designed to support confidence, belonging, and healthy development while helping families access reliable after-school support.
1:1 Community Mentoring Program
Big Brother Program
Mentee Age: 6-16 years old
Time Commitment: 4 hours per month for 1-2 years
Availability: Grande Prairie
The Big Brother mentoring program provides young males with a positive, adult role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests and is supported by our experienced case workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.
Big Sister Program
Mentee Age: 6-16 years old
Time Commitment: 4 hours per month for 1-2 years
Availability: Grande Prairie

BIG Bunch
BIG BUNCH
Youth Age: 6–14 years old
Time Commitment: 6 months
Availability: Grande Prairie
The Big Bunch Program is a group-based mentoring experience that connects youth with caring adult mentors in a fun, supportive setting. Youth are placed in small groups based on age and shared interests, creating opportunities to build friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Together, groups take part in planned activities and experiences that encourage connection, teamwork, and personal growth. Mentors provide guidance, encouragement, and positive role modeling, helping youth try new things, build skills, and feel supported.
This program is designed to support youth on the waitlist by providing meaningful mentorship and connection while they wait to be matched in a one-to-one relationship.
